Cuir de Russie is a fragrance with a subtle Eau de Parfum of violet and leather blended with precious resins. It serves as a reminder of the Slavic roots of Yuri Gutsatz, founder of Le Jardin Retrouvé, who sought to recreate a childhood memory—that of his father’s leather boots. It smells like a fine symphony of soft violets and ylang-ylang, where a chewy, smoky styrax begins to bloom alongside a touch of subtle spice. CERTIFIED QUALITY OF SLEEP BOOSTER Learn More >

The Brand

Paris, 1975. Yuri Gutsatz dared to believe that perfume could do more than just scent the air—it could truly make you feel better. This conviction gave rise to Le Jardin Retrouvé, the world’s first niche perfume house.

Today, Clara Feder and Michel Gutsatz carry on this vision with fragrances crafted from natural ingredients and backed by neuroscience to enhance your well-being—from joy and energy to calm and deep sleep.

No jargon. No labels. Just how a fragrance makes you feel. Smell Good. Feel Good. Do Good.

The Perfumer

Yuri Gutsatz (1914-2005) left his mark on the history of perfumery by championing a simple idea: the perfumer is an author.

Born in Saint Petersburg and later settled in Paris, he worked for Roure before collaborating with several major houses. In 1975, he founded Le Jardin Retrouvé, often regarded as one of the first niche perfume houses created by an independent perfumer. There, he championed free creation, guided by emotion rather than marketing.

As co-founder of the Osmothèque in 1990, he also worked to preserve olfactory heritage. His manifesto, Perfumer, thy name is nobody, remains a reference for all those who advocate recognition for the creator.
