The Fragrance

A tangy surge of pepper immediately provides an invigorating freshness, and a sure feeling of virility. Vetiver reveals itself, powerful and raw, in a criss-crossing of roots and vegetation made up of mastic, turmeric and violet leaf. Launched in 1968, Vetyver was advertised then as “male flowers, muscular and musky (...), a fresh, dry and streamlined fragrance”. This woody piece was revisited in 2021 through the filter of sustainable development by Nicolas Beaulieu, who recomposed it while picturing an ethical kind of masculinity, returning to the soil. Olfactive signature: Turmeric from LMR, which leaves and roots have been upcycled to offer the fragrance its green and woody side.

The Brand

Founded in 1930, Le Galion embodies a certain idea of high perfumery, where elegance is expressed through the precision of compositions and the nobility of materials.

Gone for several decades, Le Galion was reborn in 2014 with the ambition of creating a dialogue between its heritage and contemporary creation. Its collections bring historical signatures such as Snob, Brumes, and Vétyver back to life, while also welcoming new olfactory interpretations. Its faceted bottle, designed in an Art Deco spirit, extends this singular identity.

Le Galion cultivates a personality that is at once free, assertive, and timeless. The Perfumer

Nicolas Beaulieu studied perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles, then continued his training in New York and Shanghai.

He is a demanding aesthete and passionate about his art, but also a discreet perfumer who doesn't seek the limelight. He lets his creations speak for themselves, reflecting his personality and expertise.
