The Fragrance

A herbal and lemony freshness paves the way for a stunning and elegant leather, its woody power discreetly tamed by a white floral heart. Paul Vacher knew his stuff when it came to leather: in the early 1960s, Christian Dior commissioned him for a powerful and haughty women’s fragrance. The perfumer composed what would later become Diorling, a leathery chypre scent. Earlier in his career, he also co-created Lanvin’s Scandal, a dark leathery scent. As a tribute to these landmarks of the 20th century, Le Galion has created Cuir, robustly elegant, between an emancipated femininity and a demonstrative masculinity. Olfactive signature: Elemi oil, a little known ingredient that will make you stick out your chest with its lemony and resinous facets.

The Brand

Founded in 1930, Le Galion embodies a certain idea of high perfumery, where elegance is expressed through the precision of compositions and the nobility of materials.

Gone for several decades, Le Galion was reborn in 2014 with the ambition of creating a dialogue between its heritage and contemporary creation. Its collections bring historical signatures such as Snob, Brumes, and Vétyver back to life, while also welcoming new olfactory interpretations. Its faceted bottle, designed in an Art Deco spirit, extends this singular identity.

Le Galion cultivates a personality that is at once free, assertive, and timeless. The House favors fragrances with character, endowed with a true presence, expressing a singular vision of French elegance. Its independent spirit, its attachment to tradition, and its taste for expressive compositions give it a distinctive identity, apart from fleeting trends.

The Perfumer

Vanina Muracciole is a freelance perfumer who lives and works in Paris. She trained at ISIPCA and worked at Firmenich before setting up her own business in 2012. She is a member of the International Society of Perfumer-Creators and has her own laboratory.
