The Fragrance

Leather jackets, double-breasted suits, ripped jeans, endless necklines, eighteen-, thirty-, sixty-year-olds. Presiding over the stairs, Marilyn selects. Who will she take from the street to create the eclectic tribe inside the wildest Parisian nightclub? Hearts beat. “Come in, yes, you. Enjoy your evening. Not you. It’s not gonna happen tonight.” You climb the steps, and then descend the arena. Light touches. Mingling of davana, honey, tobacco. Exhilaration. The night is ours.

The "Une date, une histoire" collection recounts an olfactory odyssey through the founding years of 7, rue du Bourg l'Abbé. A myth that has lasted for almost 140 years.

The Brand

Les Bains Guerbois, a French perfume house, tells the saga of a Haussmann jewel. This building has embodied the history of artistic and intellectual Paris since its inauguration in 1885. It symbolizes the freedom, avant-garde and glamour of the City of Light.

The Perfumer

Bertrand Duchaufour is a French perfumer born in 1961. He discovered perfume as a teenager with Chanel's n°19, an elegant green chypre. He became fascinated by scents and decided to become a perfumer. 

Bertrand Duchaufour is a keen traveller, who loves to immerse himself in the cultures, landscapes, colours and scents of the countries he visits. 

His creations are often marked by the use of incense, a material he is particularly fond of, and which he knows how to work with finesse and elegance. He is also adept at contrasts, paradoxes and unexpected associations, which give his fragrances remarkable richness and complexity.

In 2017, he was awarded the prize for Perfumer of the Year by the Russian FiFi Awards, a recognition of his exceptional career and his contribution to the art of perfumery.
