The Fragrance

The moment when control becomes a choice and pleasure becomes an attitude. A Bacchanal—once a celebration in honor of the Roman god of wine and ecstasy -- symbolizes sensuality, liberation and the conscious release of social boundaries. Inspired by the mythology of Bacchus and a historic fragrance creation from the 1920s, J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin reinterprets this spirit in a modern way: intimate rather than loud, contemporary rather than excessive. Once created as a fantasy perfume with a distinctive character, “Bachanal” now returns with a new interpretation shaped by an addictive pistachio accord. BACHANAL unfolds slowly on the skin— creamy, warm, and addictive. The opening is immediate and seductive. Pistachio cream meets bergamot and bitter almond, creating a signature that captivates from the very first moment. At its heart, the fragrance becomes softer and more intimate. Coconut and rose geranium blend with patchouli to create a warm, textured depth. The base notes unfold into a long lasting sillage. Vanilla absolute, cocoa resinoid, and gourmand Boisés leave behind an enveloping trail - soft, warm, and sensual.

The Brand

The German company J.F. Schwarzlose & Sohne was founded in 1856 by manufacturer of musical instruments Joachim Friedrich Schwarzlose, as a family pharmacy business for his sons. Over time, his sons created their own business, in addition to the family pharmacy in Markgrafenstrasse 9 in Berlin, namely the business of creating fragrances.

J.F. Schwarzlose became a purveyor to the royal and imperial courts, and was the only German luxury perfume house that was known worldwide.

Today, the brand reinterprets its legendary classics in a modern and timeless way, with fragrances as self-assured and extravagant as Berlin itself, designed in conjunction with perfumer Véronique Nyberg.

Everything is sustainably manufactured in Germany using raw materials sourced 100% from Europe.
