Island Soul embodies an island soul—shaped by Mediterranean light, rooted in ritual, inhabited like a memory.From the very first moment, a vibrant burst of citrus illuminates the air: lemon and bitter orange, vivid and golden, like light shimmering on water. It's a vivacity that feels alive, exhilarating, invigorating.As it unfolds, the fragrance becomes greener. Galbanum enters with a raw, vivid intensity, vegetal and slightly resinous, like sun-baked shrubs battered by salt and wind. Cypress and petitgrain carry history, their aromatic clarity weaving through the light with a dry, vibrant tension. These are not ornamental greens; they anchor the fragrance, giving it depth and structure.Anchoring the composition, Atlas cedar and vetiver lend a woody depth, evoking the forests that line the island's shores. Cashmeran adds a subtle softness, supporting the structure without compromising its clarity. Founded in 1808 under the arcades of the Palais-Royal, Plisson is the oldest French house dedicated to the art of shaving, of which Napoleon was one of the first loyal customers.

The House extends more than two centuries of expertise into niche perfumery, translating into its fragrances the same precision of gesture, the same nobility of materials, and refinement without excess.

Its first fragrance collection, Collection 1808, brings together six universal eaux de parfum inspired by different facets of Napoleon’s destiny. Creations with character, designed in Paris by renowned perfumers, where heritage and modernity engage in a measured dialogue.

The Perfumer

Born into a family connected to the perfume industry of Grasse, Vincent Ricord grew up in Nice surrounded by stories of raw materials and travel.

Dyslexic, he found at a very young age in the laboratory a logic that suited him: smelling, combining, trying, and starting over. A senior perfumer at TechnicoFlor, he creates from an image or an emotion, much like a musician searching for the riff that can carry a song. A guitarist, bassist, and painter, he feeds his formulas with colors, rhythms, and deliberate accidents.

Curious by nature, he prefers exploring new balances rather than cultivating a fixed signature. The father of three daughters and a former teacher, he places transmission and environmental responsibility at the heart of his profession.
