The Fragrance

Looking back to when, as a child, my uncle, my cousins, and I would explore nature and the surrounding woods on long excursions through Groane Park, racing at full speed on our mountain bikes: the sweet scents of the woods and wild berries filled my nostrils, and the soft moss made the ground springy beneath our wheels as we rode by, surrounded by a world that, to my eyes, seemed ancient and primordial, and my mind dreamed of exploring primeval, untouched vegetation, where the hand of man had not yet made its mark.
