Late-season blooming roses are romantic and elegant, yet sexy and intoxicating. No wonder the rose is the queen in the perfume world. The last new-mown grass of the season delivers a gust or a whisper of that sweet and herbaceous scent. Verdant freshness in scent form to elevate ones day. Vanilla is not only an aphrodisiac but is also used in scents to hold open our scent receptors. The seeds from the dried pod of the climbing orchid-like plant have a sensational taste and smell, unlike the strangely scent-less flower it stems from.

Parlons d'Ellen Dahlgren. La parfumeure suédoise a présenté deux créations exceptionnelles. Ma préférée est The Ruler qui, sur le papier, pourrait ressembler à une composition classique. Mais le travail sur l'équilibre entre les matières premières fait vraiment la différence, avec de la rhubarbe juteuse, verte et acidulée. La myrrhe, la fève tonka et la rose créent une facette élégante et raffinée, tandis que le patchouli, le benjoin et la vanille apportent une chaleur réconfortante en arrière-plan.

En ce qui concerne ma propre réaction à ses nouveaux parfums, j'ai trouvé que le fait de porter simultanément The Jester et The Ruler à des poignets opposés me rappelle que lorsque je suis confrontée à des situations qui me tirent trop loin dans une direction ou une autre, je peux, sans abandonner ce que je suis, retrouver l'équilibre en me "penchant" simplement dans l'autre direction jusqu'à ce que je trouve la juste nuance de mon caractère, en même temps que la stabilité dont j'ai besoin.
