The Brand

Le Dieu Cerf fragrance, a universal cologne inspired by the world of the church of Saint-Eustache in Paris.
The church of Saint-Eustache in the first arrondissement of Paris, famous for its organs and its blend of Renaissance and Gothic architecture, as well as contemporary and modern art, inspired Le Dieu Cerf (The Stag God), a tribute fragrance. Why the stag? Placidus, Eustace's former name in legend, was a general in the Roman army during the reign of Emperor Trajan in the 11th century. One day, while hunting a stag, he spotted a cross in the middle of the animal's antlers and heard a voice. Placid renounced paganism and became a Christian. "He needed a scent, Saint Eustace, or to live in the wake of the deer god," explains Etienne de Swardt, who initiated the project with Louis Robiche, the church's general warden.

The Story

There's a place in Paris that expresses better than any other  the great eclecticism and divine presence in human diversity. A place still imbued with the memory of Richelieu, Louis XIV, Colbert, Lully, Molière and Marivaux.

A place that bears the imprint of a Rubens or a Keith Haring, united within a few steps of each other across the centuries. A place that has sung the legend of a Roman general since antiquity, a place of culture and worship, a vast spirit of openness like that of the Oratorians, servants of beauty and said to be a fixed point in a fleeting world...

Saint-Eustache, where everything begins and everything ends, the belly of Paris, the place of all unfinished vertigo.

"Le dieu Cerf perfume was conceived as a modern cologne. It opens with a citrus note combining bergamot, neroli and galbanum. Lavandin and rosemary bring their aromatic and floral facets, before giving way to a woody base, where sandalwood and patchouli blend with notes of oakmoss."  Ralf Schwieger, perfumer and creator of Le dieu Cerf fragrance
