Nipote di Jean-Paul Guerlain, Paul Guerlain scopre a cinque anni le piantagioni di ylang-ylang, vaniglia e spezie di Mayotte. A quindici anni, inizia a comporre nel laboratorio di famiglia, prima di formarsi all’ISIPCA e poi da IFF accanto ad Anne Flipo. Erede di un nome carico di storia, costruisce il proprio linguaggio. La sua scrittura ricerca il dialogo tra le materie, le loro attrazioni e le loro opposizioni.   • 🇪🇺 A glass of wine in my hand, the lights of Vendanges Montaigne around me, and the cool mineral presence of Eau Lithique on my skin. For this Thursday evening, the choice felt almost inevitable. Created by perfumer Lauriane Guignon, who also cultivates vines in Grasse, Eau Lithique brings together two worlds shaped by nature, terroir and transformation. The fragrance evokes water meeting stone: fresh, mineral and luminous, with an exceptional lasting power that carried it effortlessly through the evening. 🇫🇷 « Excusez-moi, quel parfum portez-vous ? » J’ai entendu cette question plusieurs fois jeudi soir, lors des Vendanges Montaigne. Ma réponse : Eau Lithique de Cépages Parfums. Le choix s’imposait presque naturellement. Eau Lithique a été créée par la parfumeure Lauriane Guignon, qui cultive également la vigne à Grasse, réunissant ainsi deux univers façonnés par la nature, le terroir et le temps. Le parfum évoque la rencontre de l’eau et de la pierre : frais, minéral, lumineux, avec une tenue remarquable qui l’a accompagné toute la soirée. The day is coming to an end, and neither of us really wants to see it go. When she turns towards me, her fragrance reaches me in fleeting touches. A luminous strawberry, slightly candied, followed by red berries. I know IAIA, yet on her skin, it takes on another dimension. Caramel and vanilla gradually emerge. Hazelnut brings a warm, almost creamy softness. There is something both tender and sensual about this fragrance, like a childhood memory given a new depth by time.   • I’ve been walking through the dunes for a while now, facing the Atlantic. The air is cool; the wind carries away the last traces of heat, and with every step I rediscover something very simple: the pleasure of simply being here, without seeking anything in particular. The aromatic character of rosemary and lavender was still there, but now surrounded by woods, amber and the gentle sweetness of tonka bean. Patchouli gave it a darker undertone. It smelled of the sea remembered at sunset rather than the sea at noon. That is what I like about wearing a fragrance all day. You stop judging it. You stop analysing its notes. You simply live with it. A breeze came in from the ocean and lifted the sleeve of my shirt. For a second, the scent moved around me. Marine air, aromatic herbs, woods and amber.   • 🇪🇺 I woke up this morning, and the first thing I did - before cappucino- was to smell Tulua. Perhaps it was the light coming through the window. Perhaps it was the promise of another summer day. I reached for the bottle and, for a moment, I found myself somewhere on the Amalfi coast. Tulua: the sparkling Amalfi lemon and green mandarin bring the first flash of sunlight. Then comes fior di latte, magnolia and jasmine, softened by warm amber. Fresh, luminous, quietly sensual. Tulua means “rising sun” in Sanskrit. The name feels perfectly chosen. There is something about this fragrance that makes the morning feel like a beginning. So I put the bottle among the bergamots and lemons that I had bought yesterday, opened the windows and let this Sunday morning unfold.
